Background and key information
The 1,800 m² plot is located within the built-up area of Pilisszentkereszt, in the village centre. The property is wholly owned by our company, is free of encumbrances, has all utility connections and is directly accessible from a national public road. It currently accommodates an unused, three-level office building comprising a basement, ground floor and attic. The building has a footprint of 111.19 m², is in fair condition and requires renovation.
As the first phase of the overall renovation programme, this project aims to develop the parts of the rear garden closest to the building. The required permit for the planned construction works has been obtained. The project has been awarded HUF 35.082 million in funding under the KAP-RD09b-1-24 grant scheme. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with completion expected in November 2027.
Project objectives
The primary objectives are to improve the quality and profitability of the company's existing business activities and enable it to meet anticipated demand. These objectives will be supported by the construction of demonstration and quarantine greenhouses, the creation of sales and logistics areas, and more environmentally responsible water use.
Long-term objectives:
• Produce all plants required for the company's own operations.
• Expand capacity by employing an additional one or two staff members, preferably from the local community.
• Create a high-quality site environment that reflects the company's established professional reputation, while integrating the existing building into the village setting.
Development phases
1. Greenhouse and infrastructure development: storage and management of the company's fixed assets, primary materials and ancillary supplies; installation of plants in a green façade system on site; sale of surplus plants.
2. Creation of plant cultivation areas: production of plants for the company's own use; adaptation and growing-on of plants purchased from other growers to ensure compatibility with green façade systems.
3. Creation of internal support areas: provision of office space and other support facilities within the building.
The current project will enable the implementation of the first phase, achieving the primary development objectives. The remaining two phases may be implemented later using other sources of funding.
Planned components of the first phase covered by this project
• Enclosure of the site with a fence covered by climbing plants.
• Paving of access and materials-handling areas, as well as greenhouse floors.
• Installation of underground rainwater storage tanks.
• Foundation works and construction of a fire-separating wall and greenhouse plinth walls.
• Construction of Janssens greenhouses.
